HELP! 2012 Avensis electronic parking brake....

ANY HELP AT ALL WILL BE GREATLY APPRECIATED 

 

My parking brake cable snapped... What do I do? Is it a complete epb module and cables and do I need the existing part number to match exactly I have found a 2nd hand one but the part number the last digit doesn't match (I cannot find one anywhere where my part number matches) I am of the understanding that I cannot just fit it, I will need to get it coded? How do I do that? I would of just continued driving and leave it in gear everywhere and not park on hills but the MOT is due next month

I am afraid the electronics will need reprograming unless you can use the old electronic module but even then you need to reset the handrake as if fitting new brake pads.

This is my best guess as I have not yet worked on electronic handbrake module.

Renalt electronic handbrake you can just replace the cables without changing the handbrake module itself.

you need a matching number module, then all you need to do is a zero point calibration, units are one piece with cables

My current part number is 46300-05031 

I can find several other ones none with the matching number

46300-05030 was superseded by 46300-05031

build date 07/12 - 10/12 is only listed as 46300-05031
