Can anyone help me find a window regulator, driver's door, for my 2001 Corolla 4 door hatch 1.4vvti? The drivers door window spontaneously shattered when I tried to open it in hot weather. The glass was replaced by Autoglass but they advised me that the regulator needs replacing as they couldn't get the window to go up and down evenly. They also advised me not to operate the window until I fit a new regulator! This is tough in the hot weather. Toyota don't make them any more and having looked at after market ones they seem quite different to the original and I'm sure would not fit my window motor. My motor has a multi pin plug on it - the after market regulators with motors I have found have only a 2 pin plug on a lead coming from the motor. I am wondering whether I can wire the two pin ones to my 6 pin socket on the loom, if I can work out which pins are live and ground. I realise this would mean I would lose the auto functions but at lease the window would go up and down! My existing motor is actually ok, it's the regulator that needs replacing. If I could find just an original regulator to fit my motor that would be ideal - but they seem to be like hens teeth. Any help appreciated - it's a great car but almost unuseable in hot weather without a working window. I have added pictures of the old regulator and motor connections below. Any help would be much appreciated.

Firstly, bad luck! It seems strange to me, if it was working ok before on the original glass would it not work on the new one?

Only thing I can think of is eBay?

Check on Amayama if you get the part number. European 2001 corolla is not the same accross  the globe. Pretty small compared to US version.

Thanks for all your ideas. I have tried the eBay part from e-spares direct and it has different mounting points for the motor. Will definitely give Amayama a try though.
