The old one wasn't blue enough

Think it is about time we saw some brighter colours rather than dark colours, greys, blacks, etc.

Red seems to have a revival though there are other hideous colours.

My favourite is matt sick green.  The foggy matt grey is a bit iffy.

This blue was available on Corolla in USA back in 2019 and was really cool looking car. There were also some Yaris cross in uk with similar blue previously, very nice colour indeed.

funny enough, I went from that Blue to Black..  perhaps it was my imagined perception but the bright Blue is such a jolly colour!!! I felt people pulled out on me or cut me up more thinking I was more of a pushover as its a very non aggressive colour.

So I deliberately went Black with bigger wheel on my next one as it looks far meaner and I do perceive other drivers giving me a wider berth.

So drive joyously and may people treat you with respect.

The 2nd gen Aygo and our similar 108 were this similar colour few years ago, so good to see it making a comeback. Think Toyota have been swapping their paint technicians around cos the current Aygo X colours are a bit bland!

but who buys a Fiat nowadays

FIAT,fix it again tomorrow.

Having said that I briefly owned a 127 sport with a huge 70 BHP in 1987 ,on a trip to Birkenhead to see relatives of my gf ,it did not disappoint.

Huge clouds of smoke from burning oil I think.

One of the relatives fashioned a catch tank as a get home measure.

It was orange.

French and Italian cars were really poorly made back in the days and times of golf mk2 and mk3, todays they aren’t as bad as many think. However they are now even more stupidly designed than ever, often look ugly and very unpractical, and they are nightmare to work on because the stupidity it’s not only on exterior or interior but under the bonnet too. These are my issues with these cars.
This blue also popular on focus RS, Audi S models, it’s the new red I think. For me there are two colours, black for large cars and white for small, or perhaps a grey or silver that fits  all.

Saw a YouTube vid recently where they basically said bright colours were linked to the (good) state of the economy.

My bright orange Porsche is from 2007 🙂

It was said that when Renault and Nissan came together the cars got the styling from Nissan and the reliability from Renault - oops.........

Yep, offended. FIAT produced some fantastic cars with decent handling, seriously good twin cam engines and were fun to drive, trouble is a BMC mechanic was not what was required. Likewise I have never had issues with my Lotus Elans or 7, just spent time fettling them to keep them on song and kept their throats clear in traffic. As for Ford I've had huge amounts of fun in Mexicos, RS2000s and ST2s, all totally engaging and reliable.

I had a Fiat Regatta 100 back in the day.

A fuel hose blew off and it burnt out in the middle of the road.

As a Fiat After-sales Manager, I remember refusing to take delivery of a small Fiat (can't remember which) as it wouldn't select first gear - very easy to bend the selector fork. Told him to put it back on the transporter and take it away.

Mind you, I refused a full transporter load of Polo's as well because of lousy paint (Spanish factory). Horrendous.

Primera (Bluebird replacement) all had upper front suspension link knocking (and play) from just s few thousand miles. Every dealer replaced them in their droves until Nissan refused to pay the warranty bill. DOT had to specifically include limits of movement which would be acceptable at the MOT - bonkers.

I loved some of the Italian stuff - but some were just trash (pretty trash though). My foreman went on a training course with Alfa and asked the trainer the torque setting for the front drive-shaft hub nut. Four dag-a-dags was the reply. This confused him - pounds/ft yes, Newton/metres yes but dag-a-dags - must be an Italian unit of measurement. But no - 4 dag-a-dags of the air gun!!! You couldn't make it up and this wasn't - that was the trainers actual response.

BL mechanics couldn't cope with the setting up of the cable change for the new MAXI - so much so that it was redesigned to a rod change.

Lucas and their mechanical petrol injection anyone. TR6 & 2500PI.

Ford had an oversupply of camshafts for a particular engine so deliberately produced less robust ones that needed replacement early (but not within warranty) to use them all up.

Ford Pinto and it's well documented fuel tank issues.

All brands have their issues at some points in their history.

So, I wouldn't take it so seriously.

My wife's Volvo 440 had a Renault engine. The only concern was the electric water pump that could fail and allow localised overheating on the cool-down. Her's didn't and was vey reliable (only bought it as the best alternative at the time to a Golf which was just too expensive by comparison).

You can add Mitsubishi to the Renault Nissan family. Sadly a real Japanese company like Toyota turned into a French car. Btw if anyone interested of buying a Mercedes cars buy anything from C class or above because the smaller ones are rebadged Renault cars or Mercedes with Renault engine and transmission., if that or matters  to you. 👍

I wouldn't give you thanks for any European car! They lie, deceive, and rip-off. Even now, they know about very serious issues, and try and bury them. No wonder they own the automotive media industry - it's the only way they can spin their products.

No doubt automakers all have a bad product/design at some time, but it is how they deal with it that matters. Most fail at this critical step.
