Can anybody please advise me what is the full procedure of registering a new car with private plates.

I have sent the V750 entitlement document to the dealer to register the car and I was told once they have inspected it it will be sent back to me.

Now the car was registered with no problems , I have the V5C …. but I am yet to receive the V750 back . I was talking to somebody who was not directly involved in this , but suggested they might have sent it to the DVLA.

My question is what is the course of this document ? Should I have received it back from the dealer ? Will I get it back from DVLA ?

Tbh the dealer doesn’t have to get involved if they can provide you the vin.  You can do it all online these days and just send the dealer the auth code generated by dvla. They can then fit the new plates. 
i have used that method for my last 3 vehicles on PCP.

I was told they need to see my document in original before registering the car. 
Now that the number was allocated what happens with the V750 ? It ceases as the number is now in use ?
