Turbo/Power problems

Hi, wondering if anybody could help?

I have a 2005 2.0L rav 4 d4d and on my way home from a weekend away my turbo lost its boost and power I couldn’t get above 60mph and it took a lifetime to get to that speed lol and if I hit a hill it struggled so badly and if having to stop at traffic lights or roundabout for example pulling away in 1st gear was very slow and nearly stalled every time. Has anyone ever had this problem before ? My first thoughts are it could be a split pipe but won’t know until tomorrow as it was dark when I arrived home.

Does sound like your turbo is broken and it could be a split pipe.

However, my guess is your waste gate has broken/jammed open (silver thing on the top right of the turbo). Under load a vacuum forms in there and pulls the waste gate open so maybe be worth taking at that.
