Electronic Parking Brake Preventative Maintenance

Hello everyone

Scrolling through these forums I'm starting to develop a bit of preemptive EPB anxiety. My 2009 Avensis has what I assume to be a first gen EPB. No problems so far knock on wood.

What I'm wondering is can anything be done to prolong the life of the EPB system? Any sort of cleaning, lubrication, what have you? If you have any tips or tricks please share.

[ have the same worry.. ive just had another one fail ,thats gonna cost me      the first was under warrantee.. cars only done 50000 miles one owner since new .. lost confidence now ,as with a diasabled family member with me at the time, the brakedown was not thing i wish to go through again . actuator is on back order with toyota , no car for 3 week so far
