Yaris Cross boot space for dogs

Hello!

Does anyone here have a Yaris Cross and a double dog crate (for 2x medium size dogs) in the boot? I’m considering a Yaris Cross but I’m not sure if the boot is big enough for a double crate. I don’t have such a crate at the moment so cannot go to the dealership and test it out. So I was wondering if anyone here’s got one and could share the experience. Thanks!

Check with the crate dimensions.

Hi, if you take a look at this link it will give you an idea of the dimensions of a double cage, you can then obtain the boot dimensions of the Toyota cross and then compare to see if this would be suitable for your dogs. Scroll down the link page for dimensions etc. Hope this helps.👍

To be fair to the OP, Toyotas' dimensions won't answer his question.

Lets assume the Length and Depth of the crate does fit within the stated dimentions of the boot - great. But Toyota only provide the dimention of the boot floor to the ceiling. If the car were an estate with a flat rear door then no problem, but it's not, the 5th door on the Yaris X has a sloping rear window so the height dimension may only apply to 1/3rd of the boot floor.

Agree with OP - you either need to ask someone with practical experience or take your tape measure and crate measurements to a Toyota showroom and see if it'll fit.

If you are not carrying passengers you can use the rear seat area too.

We have a Scottie and a large travel carrier.  You could get a medium size dog in it.  You cannot get two such carriers in.

When putting luggage in the boot the dog box lies fore and aft and on the right rear seat.

Thank you all for the advice! 🙂

That’ll definitely help me to figure out the best setup for my dogs.
