2001 camry water pump failure

Hi, I have a 2001 Camry LE, 4 cylinder, 250K miles.  The water pump bearing failed in a spectacular fashion, and the impeller scraped against the inside of the pump housing.

My question, can I go ahead and install a new pump?  I would think pump efficiency might be down a bit, but I don't have experience with this failure.  Thoughts?  See the attached picture for the damage, and thank you for your reply.  Cheers
