Integrated Signal Mirrors Can they be added?

I am new to this CamryClub Forum! I drive a 2018 SE and yes I know if I wanted this feature then I should’ve got an xse. However there wasn’t one available in my area when I got my car. Anyways I love lights on a car and I think the signal mirrors make the car sleek. I was going to just buy a pair and have the signals tapped and wired to run. However someone on another forum told me that was unnecessary that they would work after I plugged them in. He apparently had a 18 SE with only the power mirrors and he decided to replace his mirrors after one was smashed with indicator mirrors and heated. Supposedly the signals worked but the heaters didn’t. Is he full of it or can someone confirm that it is possible? Has anyone made this upgrade or am I just that one oddball out there really wanting those mirrors 🤣
