Problem..

Hey everyone, my interior door light doesnt come on no more......but when i switch it to on, it comes on, but when i switch it to door it dont work.... what's wrong with it? i hate my car!! :cacker:

Hi,

what happens if you press the little switch on the door post, if the interior light works it could be the rubber bit is gone missing. Otherwise have a look at the wiring for the switch or the switch itself.

Tried all that, it doesnt come on....

I am going to wait for my service in the winter i think, i aint good at all this fixing stuff....

there's a small screw that holds the switch to the body , thats the earth point , turn it anti clockwise then tighten it again and it should come back on.

you asked how i knew , messing with cars for 21 years was my answer.

i bet the light still works on the passenger door.if it does then that screw will be the problem , cos they get rusted and lose the contact.GOODLUCK ;)

You could also try taking the switch out on both doors. then cleaning then up with a glassfibre stick or some fine emery/sandpaper. Once you have cleaned them up, use some vasoline on them and this will stop your clean faces furring up!! Hopefully this should sort you out good and proper!!!

Ok Ok the problem is now solved, case closed! Hehehe, with the thanks to Bibbs for checking it out for me today, he totally fixed it for me, so big *hugs* to him, but still didnt know what the problem was? can u explain Bibbs?
