Hello. I’m in need of replacing an aircon pump for my Avensis. The price garage gave me if they’d get the part is too high, like £500. I managed to find a brand new one from autodoc for half that price and garage is willing to fit it for me charging only for the labour and regasing. There’s one little thing that’s different to the one compared in eurocarparts that I’m not sure if is something critical and i’d find out it doesn’t work on my model and that’s Oil Fill Quantity (the one in eurocarparts shows 90ml and the part i want to buy from autodoc is 130ml. But in autodoc provided with my reg number does say it is compatible with my model. I guess it would be fine, but wanted to ask you experts to get that little bit of assurance 🙂

how much would you save if you buy it from autodoc and have a garage fit it for you and how much if they fit theirs? 
The problem is if anything goes wrong afterwards the garage likely to refuse any warranty work as the part been supplied by you. Aurodoc and similar buying yourself worth it when you do a all the work by yourself and save a good amount from labour. Is it not better to get a quote for an AC specialist all in price and warranty? Just to think about. Also what about a used original compression if any available?

You have a point. I was recommended by a friend not to consider a used part. But i guess i wouldn’t be saving all that much then. I’ll think about it. Thanks 🙂
