Thanks for sharing.
This guy has a good videos and tutorials although some of the information it’s not correct.
For example Toyota hybrid batteries aren’t serviceable officially and does not require to be open , nor the fan needs to be cleaned on all vehicles fitted with filters . All you need to do is open the grill and replace filter if necessary. Best to check once a year and replace if dirty. If not there is no need.
In older hybrids there were no filter fitted and not only dirt and dust has entered but also a hair and fluff, pollen which could have prevent the fan from free spinning or spinning slower than usual and overheating the Battery. Small dust film on the fan fins will not cause any issues at all. Been there like him on gen 3 hybrid at 140k miles and 10 years of service and I know from personal experience., Check and replace filter only. 👌

He does acknowledge that Toyota don't require the Battery to be serviced ...

But he clearly doesn't understand the role of the service plug - namely to protect engineers working on the rest of the car rather than folk messing with the Battery! 😉

I'm a bit late adding updating this topic so sorry about that.  I got as far as removing the seat squab, removing plastic pin connectors and then tried to lift the plastic moulding holding the filter but it wouldn't budge. I couldn't see any other points of attachment and, in the end, gave up. It must be removable because the guy in the video (see earlier posts in this topic) did it; but how???

Taken from the video shared above you will need to remove this clip with red arrow then insert a remover tool somewhere along the gap of these cover and lift up, take it out as he did and replace the filter inside. This is all you need to do on these cars. No need to go inside the Battery

Thanks Tony. I don't know how I missed that clip!  I'll have another go when the weather improves.
