12v is supposed to be there, the car turns the light on/off with the ground wire

make sure the wires you have connected to in the past are not shorting on anything and check you have not rubbed a wire through on a sharp edge

I'm pretty sure that in the past everything was good....maybe when fitting the piece in its plase, the agnd wire touched a metal part...it's the only thing I can think of, maybe the insulated tape has moved during the re-assembling...the wire n°9 has a small cut nearby the white clip, the wire n°6 (agnd) has a cut at 10cm distance from the red one

but is it a danger thing? is it fixable?

the only wires that I have touched are that in discussion and the other side for the folding mirrors (+/- from the headlights level adjustment)

is there a way to disasseble the power button and physically remove the led? my code is 8961102112

you will get voltage across the pins you tested

now see if you have power between Red and Purple and then test between Red and Green

also, check your connection on the mirror switch and headlamp leveller

I think I know what is going on

well yes, the insulated tape on black wire n°6 has slipped and probably touched a metal part

I'll try later...do I have to do the check with the car locked and key away?

I have fully disconnected the aftermarket radio/head unit, other wiring are perfectly good

car locked, check after 20 min from locking

black - and red +: 12.46v

black - and purple +: 11.91v

red - and purple +: 0

purple - and red +: 0

red - and green +: 0

green - and red +: 0

skyblue - and green +: 11.88v

white - and green +: 11.88v

brown - and green +: 11.24v

brown - and red +: 11.77v

brown - and purple +: 11.22v

skyblue - and red+: 12.40v

skyblue - and purple +: 11.86v

I think that the black wire touched something to the ground inside here

Do you understand the meaning of flash's comment? :-

"12v is supposed to be there, the car turns the light on/off with the ground wire"

It's rather crucial to how you interpret voltage readings on such circuits.

Don't make me feel dumb 😟

the agnd wire is the only wire that is unprotected because the insulating tape came off during A/C dash re-assembly

Agnd is controlled by the certification ecu so that ground should be turning off it could be the switch or the certification ECU

so did this issue happen before you removed your lighting

so the lighting was 'hiding' the issue...should I check the button somehow?

Did this issue happen before you removed your lighting - YES or NO

AIUI This is a circuit that is controlled from the ground end. When off the whole circuit, including agnd will be at or near 12V. The ECU then switches it on by connecting agnd to 'real' ground. As such shorting agnd to ground won't damage anything, just turn the circuit on. For the light to stay on agnd must be continually connected to gnd, either by a short or the ECU.

(If that is wrong I hope @flash22 will correct me.)

what we need to know is what is causing Agnd to stay awake (turned on)

NO, never

before or during NEVER happened

- disconnected 12v from the hood
- removed the lightning wires
- insulated the black and red from the button wiring
- connected 12v from the hood
- everything was perfectly good (radio, monitor, led button that turns off after few seconds, OEM lights, everything...)
- mounted the A/C dash
- PROBLEM

Ah that illumination circuit is also related to the AC controls illumination

unplug the AC panel and see if the start button goes out

Same problem...with car unlocked, with car off, with lights off, with lights on

no OBD is plugged in

what is that tape around the brown (maybe pink) wire

the button illumination is not related to the AC control illumination, with the black pin disconnected the AC does not work and does not have illumination

the pink and brown wires (both of them) have a little cut and a lot of tape, perhaps the previous car owner put in some more lighting (footwell for example), they are +12v and ground probably

not my job, I've found it this way since 2021

they share the same ground point !!!

It is your job if it's causing an issue, simply disturbing the wiring can cause an issue, remove that tape on the brown wire, and give the wire the tug test

you have a ground issue with the illumination

removed and it is solid...I've done 4-5 times with moderate pull, not a move

I'm really sorry Bob, but I like to find out the reason, hope you can understand me

the A/C control is the F28 black clamp (8 pin), with the position 8 (brown) that is GND and goes to 5A to the ground

the power button is F42 white clamp (10 pin), with the position 6 (black) that is AGND and goes to position 24 on the ECU

how do they share the same ground point?

Posted

because the cert ecu gets its ground through the same point

do your interior lights come on ? with the door open

do you have smart entry and start?
