Has this been discussed anywhere?

An updated model already? Showing on Toyota UK.

Can you share the link please? I looked for it but couldn't find.

Things are getting interesting. I hope Toyota will apply discount for the current owners 🙄 if we decide to upgrade.

Just go through to the Build configurator - the text on the "improved model" appears as a disclaimer ...

Presumably this will appear as a MY24 spec in due course.

Note: it also states "If you would like more information, your local dealer can advise on the changes."

I find the wording strange.

Most manufacturers will roll out incremental improvements year on year but I read this as something more substantial. However, it could all be clumsy copy.

I've just moved to a different part of the country so I was at my new local Toyota yesterday getting the software updates booked in. Asked how the car was selling and they've had a couple that have been sat there for a few months..... So I thought I'd look at what the list price is now, out of curiosity.

Will ask next time I'm speaking with them.

I see nothing on Toyota.dk about this. Bigger Battery would be great.

It's been showing for a while, it's not been possible to download a brochure either.

I'm guessing it's only going to be a few cosmetic changes and tweaks to what's included on models. I had a Pure model for a test drive and the smaller multimedia screen looked silly in the same bezel as the 12"

Perhaps they have put the car through a new WLTP test after the upgrade and can then include the improved range in the brochures etc along with minor cosmetic changes ?

Posted

I think it may more likely be a preheating function for the Battery prior to rapid charging. Toyota have already said that this would have to be more than a software modification to achieve this

Posted

The text has vanished this morning and the brochure is available to download (dated July). Anyone able to figure out what's been changed?

Also delivery is now gone to 13 weeks instead of 33 weeks?!

Guess I may need to look at getting a charger fitted earlier than I expected

That's strange, to be honest I was looking on my work PC and the text had gone.
The brochure only just appeared today though and it's clearly dated July23 in the filename.

Has anyone been able to spot anything different in the July Brochure?
I know it can't be relied upon, but Google Bard claims that the 2023 refresh will have a slightly higher rated Battery, but this could be related to the May software update that I've seen people talk about.

Poor old Bard will be totally unreliable in this case - there's far too much wild speculation in his information base! 😉

A copy of the earlier brochure if that helps:

The only obvious difference I have spotted is the absence of the Premiere Edition ...

I'm guessing the July brochure is showing the updated spec (not that it looks very different) as sometimes I get this page with the note image.thumb.png.c4045c5665173ce91565263afb50357a.png

And other times it looks different, with no note on the page.
Guessing a link somewhere hasn't been updated ? But it makes me think that the spec isn't going to change that much.

I believe that if you Build a new bZ4X you will see the caveat on the "improved specification" while if you simply Explore you do not. (But I could equally well be totally confused 😉 )

To be honest someone raised the question on the Toyota magazine, and they simply said any news would be posted in the magazine. Nothing yet, so again confused.

Maybe the brochure reappearing may not be anything as the RAV4 brochure is still missing.

Nothing's changed. The brochure is dated July 2022.

Oh no it's not!  🙂

The latest downloadable brochure is dated July 2023 (back cover) and last modified 19/07/2023 (Properties).

The key difference between the 2022 brochure and the 2023 brochure is the deletion of the Premiere Edition.

Ah! I just looked at the copy Jonathan shared last week on the 25th July.

So, no luck of a newly specified build having the preheat function, then?

The website is still suggesting that the spec is being updated. Who knows?

Maybe they reinstated an updated pdf based on feedback that it wasn't available.

Yes that's right.

The entire model range Price list has been updated for August 2023 and looking at the bz4x updates another notable difference is that 7kW On Board Charger models are not available anymore and only the 11kW versions are sold, also the 20" Alloy wheels are not available as cost option anymore on the motion spec for some reason.

Another minor annoyance I have with this car is that Toyota are still trying to aggressively upsell the entry level (I wouldn't call £46,100 OTR entry..) model most notably the centre console display on the pure model which is 8 inch and every other model 12.3.

This really stands out because the centre display in the bz4x is designed to be heavily integrated seamlessly into the lower control panel and designed to fit flush with the 12.3 inch screen,  the the 8 inch leaves massive unsightly bezels to remind you that you are to cheap to not buy the next spec up, this isn't a big deal with a entry level Aygo but a 46k premium car its pretty ridiculous....

PUREbz4x8inch.thumb.jpg.a1b51f6878316618157e1be213a383b0.jpg12.3inchmotionvision.thumb.jpg.a3793b25e1075b3228513bc3860a0425.jpg

I am convinced the bz4x pure model only exists to get a lower "starting from" entry point so to not look overpriced compared to competitors like the Nissan ARIYA or Tesla model Y but in reality they have no interest in selling the low margin model (12.3 inch display isn't even an cost option on the pure) so they artificially kneecap lower spec models to upsell the next tier up which is the higher margin £49,910 motion spec as that is almost £4k extra!

This isn't a new in the industry but its a shame that the Toyota does this with the already expensive BZ4X when the the entry level Corolla comes with the same size screen as the top spec(there is a no cost option for a smaller screen for taxi drivers and police).

Regarding what other posters said, Toyota UK can do a better communicating the 2023 bz4x updates, calling the updated late 2023 model the "the all new bz4x" on the website is confusing as the bz4x model is relatively new and most customers think its referring to the launch model..

I do wonder if someone just hasn't updated the Toyota website, as it's still got the same message about an updated model.

As suggested, maybe it's just supposed to be the removal of the launch models?

This is what came up today on instagram..

They even changed the name of the car?

I like it more in this full body color.
