Just ordered next year's model. The salesman said it had a later generation hybrid that was 15% more efficient.  Presumably fuel efficiency could translate to greater performance.

We shall see.

I wonder if they’ve upgraded the 12V Battery too.  Toyota are pretty good at responding to feedback.  It’s my intention to order the Lexus LBX if I like the seat and I’ll be checking that Battery out.

I have no idea what Battery my current YX has though some suggestions are lead-calcium.  I do know that in a year (MY21) I have had no issues including a 16 day layup at Gatwick and a 12 day layup at Southampton.  The car was probably moved in between times though certainly not your Ready mode 60 minutes.

In both instances a solar trickle charger would not have worked.  In both cases with valet parking you would be reliant on the parker knowing what to do with the charger.  At Southampton the car was in a multistory.

Well done. Sales persons says it’s very likely false, perhaps is 14% lighter Battery, 14% more power as is on the Toyota official brochure about Corolla, but the next gen it is a welcome change plus the digital dashboard. I am thinking of upgrade too, but just want to see 300000 miles on the trip counter before trade in, I mean scrap it 😂👌

I recall seeing someone here getting a Yaris Cross delivered in january this year and it was still a Mutlu.

It's basically the same engine but with 130 horse powers instead of 115

I think I've used it twice in 10 years of driving, and both of those were around Bradford.. I did accidently press it this morning though, its got such an adorable 'peep' ahaha.

I've got a feeling you're going to enjoy the new BARBIE movie 😂.

Just read the link which refers to the Yaris rather than the Cross.

New Premiere Edition and GR SPORT grades will feature “Hybrid 130” as standard

As I am getting the Cross Excel it obviously won't.

So far, I’ve not seen any information that suggests your ‘new’ Cross will be any different than your existing one.

Why do you think it will ?

Because the salesman side the engine would be Gen 4.5 compared with my MY21 which was Gen 4.  Quite what the Gen 4.5 is I don't know, but he said it was 15% better economy.  Now that would be consistent with the better power/weight ratio of the Hybrid130 but it is very vague.

I also got the salesman's promise.  If the YX MY changed, having now signed the paperwork, I would get the newer model but at the current price.  Now that I have to see.

If, for instance, a new model came in at £1,000 more but I was offered the older model then I would expect a £1,000 reduction.  Again, I would have to see 😄

It's quite simple to give the dealer a call and find out if the new cross is indeed 130. I think I'd be very skeptical of getting the new 130 cross for the same price as current one.

It would be a fair assumption that the 130 will be roll out to the cross, that will benefit it more than the yaris. It would be something that I would be happy to get in 2-3 years.

Any chance one of you who just got their Yaris Crosses could open the hatch under the rear seats and see if you can photo the Battery? I'm planning on checking mine too as they come, but an article claimed that Toyota switched Battery supplier in jan 22, but even in jan 23 we had some of the same batteries still on these forums. So curious if it's still a Mutlu in yours?

I looked at mine yesterday but all I could see was a white case no markings but saying that I didn’t pull it out so I couldn’t see the top.

Core, I tried to look when I got the car a year ago - gave up.  Let the experts do it.

Now we want either a brave soul, Anchor, to look or get the garage to show you.

Yeah that jan 23 Mutlu was anchor's I recall.

But yeah, if it's not visible without dismantling the seats, then don't bother 😄

Figured it might've been visible from the hatch, but it could be the stickers are on the backside or on top of the Battery. Might be able to reach with phone camera or something but yeah, probably not worth it. I believe the terminals are awfully exposed there to go poking in blindly

Mine was delivered in January 23 (tyres marked late November 22 which is usually a good indication of build date), it’s a 23 model and it’s got a Mutlu Battery if that answers your question.  Can’t help thinking of Muttley when I see that.

I’ve had mine exactly a week now and we’re both fitting in comfortably together, I like how easy it is to drive and the seats are super comfy although, we’ve not been on any long journeys yet, it’s very similar to the puma with a very similar spec so I’m used to all these safety systems , admittedly I was a little concerned regarding noise and the cvt but , neither are cause for concern , it’s weird having to release a lever for the fuel, and having a petrol cap after the fords easy fuel system, but no real biggie, still trying to improve my mpg , achieving around 62/4 atm, but still adapting my driving style for the hybrid, so yeah,  all good so far…

Doing better than my ~58.2 but I suspect I'm ruining it with all the short doggo trips 😄

Do you guys drive in eco mode, normal or sport ?
Normal is the best for performance and fuel consumption plus long journeys without ACC. Eco is nah , the sport is good but then after a while you would like to keep it on sport all the time and efficiency will suffer a bit 😉👌
