Hello everybody

I have a problem with the rear fog lamp on my toyota corolla e120, station wagon model manufactured in Great Britain with left-hand drive.
The warning light comes on on the dashboard but the rear lights do not come on.
I tested the bulb and the fuses, all is good.
I also checked that a wire is not cut at the level of the rear light.
I think there is a relay for this fog lamp.
However, I can't find this relay and that's why I need help 🙂
Can anyone help me locate this relay and give me its part numbers?
I thank you in advance
Any help will be greatly appreciated.
Sorry for my english google translate helped me 😉

I have already searched on my side
I have two fuse boxes under my hood.

nothing here seems to me for the rear fog lamp
I also discovered a relay plate (otp) below the dashboard on the passenger side above the glove box.
if I understand correctly it seems to me that a relay is missing in position 2 on this board.
which is weird what my lights were working before
I did not remove the relay myself
my toyota went to the garage for an airbag replacement procedure under toyota's recall warranty
did hey remove the relay and forget to put it back?

On a LHD it will be on the internal fuse box (instrument panel junction box) by the driver's left knee

near my left knee is my fuse box (last photo with the blue box)

it's left-hand drive, my steering wheel is on the right if you look at the car in front 🙂

I will look it up when I'm in front of my pc, the relays are located on the REAR of that fuse box, I have conflicting information at the moment on the exact location

Front fog light relay is the middle one above the glove box, the rear fog runs through the stalk with no relay,

check for 12v at the rear light (use the body as ground)

then check for 12v out from the stalk

im still trying to find wiring diagrams that are correct for these models

Wonder if its like a similar thread,  ref  Haynes manual,  and that the Rear Fog lights are like mine and run directly off the combination  light switch on the steering wheel,  the front fogs do have a relay and their own Fog fuse,  the Rears run off the 15A Tail fuse which must be ok otherwise your  warning light would not work.

Had a near idential problem on a rear light of another car and everything checked out ok with a test meter, but the fault only cured when a new bulb was fitted and the housings contacts cleaned.

ah, flash just beat me

Thanks OC, yes that's the one (this one being a diesel it does use a dip-dim relay for the headlights tho)

all the diagrams i look at are non uk/eu and don't have a rear fog - early 2000's info is so hit and miss

Do you have a Towbar installed ? as the towbar socket includes a switch to turn off the rear fog on the car when a trailer is attached and its not unusual for the switch to be stuck with dirt or corroded and keeping the cars fog light switched off.

Je regarderai quand je serai devant mon pc, les relais sont situés à l'ARRIERE de cette boite à fusibles, j'ai des informations contradictoires pour le moment sur l'emplacement exact

thank you i will look at it too

ah, flash vient de me battre  :grand sourire:

I disassembled and cleaned the contacts of the bulbs on the headlight with contact spray

I have a trailer hitch but I didn't think to check.
I will check if I see a contactor on the socket and clean with contact spray

Good evening everyone,

Finally I was able to look at this fog light problem which probably came from my trailer electrical outlet 🙂
Thanks for your advice 🙂 it allowed me to solve the problem
Without glasses (it was about time for me 😉 ) I couldn't see the small switch on the electrical plug ...

Thanks everyone
Problem solved!
