Built in Cloud Sat Nav and Android Auto

I purchased my 1 year old Yaris Cross Excel 2 weeks ago and whilst more than happy with the car I cannot say the same about the Cloud navigation system. When I brought the car the rep downloaded the Toyota MyT app and we activated all the smart services. All good so far, it recognised my user account etc. However the fuel stations screen returned no results, but this problem has already been noted in another part of this forum. From the start it didn't warn me of 2 local speed cameras and 1 red light camera. A few days later it logged me in as a guest user and refused to give me smart services. However the camera warnings suddenly worked. The dealer spent 30 minutes getting it to log my account eventually after resetting the whole system to factory default, then two days later it logged me out again. I now have logged in as me again scanning the QR code in the app under multimedia but still no cameras. I've noticed the network signal is very weak at my home but after I move down the road it shows a couple of bars and 4G. The route navigation seems to work, but I don't see any traffic congestion warnings even when stationary in one. I decided to use Android auto with google maps, which initially worked when pressing the D button, but now it only shows the Android home screen with the map icon missing. The garage just suggests I leave it with them for the day, but as I have updated the software etc so don't see what more they can do ? They are a main Toyota dealer but seem a bit vague when it comes to the Smart Connect System ?

Anyone got any thoughts please ?

John,

All common issues.  The Guest/John issue is not infrequent.  Camera warnings are hidden deeply in setting sub menus.  Android Auto is more an Android App issue than a Toyota one.

Try the AA setup and also try Google.  One of my issues was getting rid of the Podcast option.  I had activated it to have a look and could not get rid of it afterwards.  That question came up as one of the top requests on Google.

Thanks for your comments Roy, maybe the next software update will address some of these then, but I won't hold my breath. I have all the settings set on, but no luck.

I'll have another go at AA, I did half suspect this was more an android problem. I did install Waze  on my phone which worked a treat and appeared in the AA home screen, but I am old school and not too keen on the way Waze presents maps etc. Maybe I'll research it further.
