The article is dated 2010 and relates to the RAV4 EV which was discontinued in 2014. The agreement ended in 2017.

Musk learning from production quality at volume. Toyota getting better EV performance. Or something like that.

Musk would most probably learn from Toyota production but Toyota learning from Musk might be doubtful as I somewhere watched Musk saying he didn't patient any of his/their Tesla and SpaceX designs.

The RAV4 EV was mostly a California compliance car, but was a good test for both companies.

It was quite a short run, but was in demand for a while as someone managed to hack it to let you connect a battery-tender trailer for long range running (IIRC essentially strapped a Tesla Model S Battery under a car trailer and wired it into the car's high voltage system  )

You're probably right. Late night, couldn't sleep. Some health issues that meant I needed to max out on steroids. After which I'm as bright as a button. All night. 🤣

That "mod" brings to mind pictures of WWII vehicles towing a trailer with a gas bag on it, (Yes a la Dad's Army and Cpl Jones) but like Airships, it never took off. I would have thought that there are parts of the world where a towed hydrogen tank could be a good idea, though.
