2023 Yaris design speedo mpg to kmh.

Can any one that has driven in Europe tell me if you manually have to change digital speedo from mph to kmh in a 2023 yaris design when driving in Europe.

Interesting.  In the UK our speedo has to show mph and kph as part of our Construction & Use regs as we were, back in the 70's going to change to kph here. Hence the rule.  However, it was decided it was going to be too expensive so the idea was dropped.  Euro speedo has only got to show kph in their regulations.  Foreign drivers here drive on kph only.  I can't find a definitive answer to you on the Web. However found this which may help.

Now, interestingly, my Yaris digital display only shows mph, so, in theory I presume, it doesn't meet regs!  There must be an amendment somewhere otherwise type approval wouldn't have been granted.

You can change the display to kph deep in the settings which might be an advantage to save having to convert kph to mph and vice versa as you concentrate on being on the "wrong" side of the road.

Maybe others will be able to add or correct my thoughts.

Mine shows both.  It has the digital speed in the main display and a small digital kmh reading alongside.

In the Yaris Mk4's with the digital dashboard, you do need to manually change to kph - Just be glad, as we're the only ones who have that ability; All the ones in other countries are stuck on kph only!  

I forget where exactly but if you goto the Settings section with the steering controls, there is a section where you change the units; It'll also change mpg to L/100km.
