First Hybrid

Hi, Just ordered a new 2ltr Corolla GR Sport. This will be my first Hybrid car, I have previously owned a Toyota GT86 but my daily drivers have been Mazda's for the last 10 years.

I was very impressed with the 2ltr Corolla GR Sport during my test drive. Delivery in November 23 so quite a wait.

I think you'll enjoy it - It won't have the flickability of the GT86, and I suspect you will feel the extra weight, but it will feel much more responsive!

The launch you can get out of these new gen hybrids is hilarious

If only Toyota had set them up like this from the beginning - Nobody would think hybrids are slow! :naughty:

I'm having a lot of fun with my Yaris - It's been a dependable and insanely frugal commute-mobile, but when I want to take it for a country-side hoon it's totally game for that too! :naughty:

There aren't many cars that you can have your cake and eat it like you can with these!

Thanks for your post, yes I'm looking forward to driving the 2ltr GFR Sport. Just a little concerned about 12 volt Battery charge when I'm mainly doing short journeys.

I'm sure you will enjoy the Corolla. I have a 2.0 Corolla (Excel) and a GT86, very different cars and both enjoyable in their own ways.

Hi David.

Yes looking forward to the 2.0 Corolla GR Sport, I had a GT86 for 5 years and loved it. Unfortunately a back injury made my mind up to sell it. I still hanker after one every time I see one on the road.

Weirdly that seems to be mainly of a Yaris thing - I can recall very few people with a Corolla hybrid posting about it. Presumably the Corolla has a bigger Battery so can go longer.

Hi Paul. Welcome. I'm sure it will be worth the wait.We waited 11 months for our Yaris and 6 months for my C-HR, so I know what you will be going through. Hang in there !!

I love it although in truth are debating with myself whether to swap it for a Yaris(of the GR Circuit Pack variety)

The Yaris GR Circuit Pack is a motor and a half.

I saw a white one a few weeks ago at Snetterton Circuit in the spectators car park, excellent looking motor.
