Could my Verso be Euro 6?

Recommended Posts

Hi all. I am the owner of a Jan. 2015 registered Verso (MPV) 1.6 D-4D diesel. The particular model ran from 2013-2018 and cars registered after September 2015 were Euro 6. Toyota want £75 for a Certificate of Conformity and won't tell me whether it is Euro 6 compliant before paying the fee. Has anyone had theirs retrospectively registered as a Euro 6 compliant vehicle?

Moved to the Verso club.

The range was revised from May 2015, and this was when the 1.6D4D became Euro VI.

As yours was built/registered months before this date, it will be the earlier Euro classification

Never seen a car having had their Euro  classification changed retrospectively.

That's quite useful. Any info as to whether they updated anything on the car i.e DPF filter or similar? Having read through the following gov uk page and spoken to them on the phone, they require proof from the manufacturer that the car is compliant. You can then upload the Certificate of Conformity, get the DVLA record updated and even apply for a refund if you had to pay for the Clean Air charge. There were diesel cars manufactured years prior that were compliant. https://www.bristol.gov.uk/residents/streets-travel/bristols-caz/apply-clean-air-zone-charge-refund

Conformity will be part of the type approval 2010 onwards all diesels had to have a DPF (part of euro 5)

the 1.6 is the 1WW bmw engine (N47)

do a check on the TFL website that will tell you

Many thanks. The TFL checker has it registered as a non-Euro 6 which is exactly the point.

@VersoWales With Euro6 there have been some components changed to get that "status". Like those swirl flaps in the intake manifold and different DPF pressure sensor (two hoses/pipes instead of one). If your engine has not that specific Euro6 modifications can't be titled as Euro6 engine. Perhaps I don't know the specific law in UK - because I'm from Germany.
