2008 Estima Aeras 2.4 non hybrid.

When I bought the car there was only one key fob and no keys. Whilst I don't have any problems at the moment I like to be prepared. So is there a way of getting a second fob and or getting a key for the doors?

Apologies if this has been asked before but it didn't appear when I searched this forum

Oh. I'd imagined that was just a pry bar to open the key fob.

Would a Toyota dealer be able to program a blank key fob?

Main stealers will not touch imports, it can be done with higher end scan tool or techstream (most dealers are no more than parts fitters these days)

A lot of key cutters can clone the electronics and cut the key, alternatively they will know a vehicle specialist with said equipment, most are mobile as main stealers use them to but add their margin on top.

The emergency key is in the fob, there should be a button on the side of the fob to release it

EG.

I got a fob from that seller and had it programmed and the key cut by a local guy who has a mobile service. All very efficient.

Oh, ok i only posted it as an example - it's easier to do it now then when you lose the only fob, it then becomes a major expensive headache

Can you reprogram a blank/new fob with Techstream?

yes if you have at least 1 working fob

Better late than never I suppose, but I had only one smart key fob & you do need a spare trust me.
Having had transponder keys supplied & cut in the past for various Toyotas I've owned over the years I was expecting to pay about £150 for a smart key fob from the main dealer.
Local Toyota dealer NOT interested in imports AT ALL
Found a place local to me who import Toyota Smart Key fobs, Genuine Toyota too which they import from Dubai & he said "you won't get one from Toyota as imports are a no no"  & I said "I know as I've just been down to the dealers".
Anyway he supplied me a Smart key fob, programmed it & cut the blade, & it took about 20 mins or so & it cost me £200.
A bit steep but as I was willing to pay £150 I thought stuff it I'll get one.
