HUD Disappointment.

Ours is not a Launch Edition. HUD was part of the Tech pack which was an option when we placed the order. The tech pack came with HUD, JBL sound system, and the BSM

It’s a shame we weren’t offered a HUD when we ordered an Excel last Feb. The HUD in my Lexus RZ shows Nav from Apple Maps in CarPlay but not Google Maps.

Yes, we were lucky. The Tech pack was discontinued just after ours. It was well worth the extra money though

Definitely worth the £500, it was what I had wanted. But no more, it should come back again once supplies ease, though think it will cost more.

The really weird thing is Mazda still offer their Mazda 2 Yaris with a HUD!

At a guess Mazda do not sell the Yaris in any high volume. Haven't actually seen a Mazda Yaris on the road as yet.

I have seen one on the road (And did a double-take as I thought it was a Yaris  ) so I can confirm they really exist!!

I saw one too, but yeah rare occasions. The more popular are the Suzuki like Corolla and the one that is based on rav4. 👍

Usually they are confused, as it seems a lot of the salemen aren't aware you could get a HUD in the Mk4 Yaris except in the Launch editions!

What about Mazda?  Did someone say they had them?

Indeed, although that wouldn't help their efforts, as I don't think my local Toyota dealer would sell me a Mazda

The top-spec model Mazda 2 Hybrid has not only the HUD but also wireless charging for your phone as part of the package.

I test-drove one last month. Identical in every way to the Yaris and it is also available (top-spec) in my preferred colour of black with black trim... It's where I will be going in October if Toyota doesn't get their act together...

Do you not like the new upcoming premiere edition in blue with black interior and interesting seat material? In 130 bhp version with the nicer full digital dashboard  I would say my favourite Yaris to date. If I was about a new Yaris definitely been putting my money on this one.

I must admit, if I was buying one now I'd also opt for the Mazda model... It just makes more sense, while smeg only knows what's going through the heads of the decision makers of Toyota UK. Their newer offerings seem to increasingly be favouring form over function, removing useful things and adding useless bling!

Absolutely but still no announcement and as of September, I will have 6 payments left on my finance so they need to get a move on!!

Well, it looks like that option has just been scuppered!!

Just had a phone call from the Mazda dealer and he informed me that, as of yesterday, the arrangement with Toyota has come to an end and they will be shortly receiving two of the last "2 Hybrids" being produced and after that, no more! 

Disappointing!!😢

Don’t be, especially when buying privately and a brand new.
These cars and all similar homologised models aren’t as good as the original ones in terms of future value, support and after sales service.  
Perhaps a great buy for a second hand car buyer. But if you have one brand new at huge discounts and if it comes with all the goodies you like then can be a cracking deal too. I still see the next blue premier edition 130 Yaris as the best one. 🚙

Is that just a temporary arrangement because of the parts shortages, or is that literally it??

That's a real shame... I wonder why? Maybe they just weren't selling, or Toyota's shortages meant they couldn't honour the supply any more?

I'm pretty sure Mazda haven't gotten their fleet CO2 down significantly in the time it was on sale!

Perhaps they have licenced some of the drive train technology for their "other" Mazda 2 hybrid car? Who knows...
