Helpful guy pulled up past questions, saying I would have to take it to some sort of headlight specialist type job - a story for children.  Anyway he said he would ask technical support as it wasn't clear and get back to me today or tomorrow.

Not sure how and where can you apply stickers on active beam tech headlights or those with more than one led ,. If me I just gonna go on trip and that’s it. Add the UK sticker on the rear , have fire extinguisher, yellow vests x4, triangle, etc the usual stuff and won’t let anyone touching my headlights especially if they are unsure. Don’t want to have broken headlights and go through a hell to prove they had it broken and pushing for warning replaced. One of these light units can cost excess of £1000. Just my thoughts.

My second VW Touran (09-plate) had small metal levers in the back of each dipped headlight to change the dip for driving on the right.  Devil of a job to reach, but did the job very well.  Then my 2017 VW Caravelle did not have this fitment, and it was back to stick-on beam benders.

I vaguely recall that some years ago Volvo installed dipped headlights where the dip to left or right was by GPS control. Don’t know which model(s) had this feature.

I totally agree - where you would stick it is anyones guess - lol - no suggestions...

Thank you for your time on the phone today in regards to your vehicle headlight sticker query.

I have been in contact with my internal Technical Team and they have advised your vehicle specification shows LH aiming headlamps for right hand drive vehicle installed.

They have recommended the headlamps are checked by someone suitably qualified and equipped to do so. If using any aftermarket accessory items, the supplier of these can confirm suitability and provide installation instruction where necessary.

states correctly that RHD cars are fitted with headlamps that 'aim' to the left. If we were to permanently export our cars to the continent we would have to replace the headlamp units with ones that aim to the right. But that's not the question you asked! 😉

The rest is a complicated version of "we don't know or, if we do, we aren't committing ourselves to provide advice". And that's rather obvious evidenced by the complete lack of useful information in this space in the owner's manual!  😞

We have two simple choices:

1. Point the car at a wall, in the dark, with the headlamps on and dipped and decide for yourself whether the light pattern could possibly dazzle oncoming drivers, or
2. Buy a set of Eurolite stickers and fit them as best you can in accordance with the instructions provided.

This debate seems to rumble on across multiple forums but the truth is that modern LED headlamps have a flat beam and don't require stickers - but it is wise to check for yourself!!! 👍

Do you have a level adjuster in the car?

Personally, despite frequently traveling through Europe, I've not put stickers on any headlights in the past 20 years. If the headlights are adjustable, then turn them down to make sure they don't blind. Otherwise, modern cars that are auto adjusting (i.e. you don't have a level adjuster in the car) often have a flat pattern and generally have such a compressed beam that putting a crude sticker on the lens is more likely to incorrectly scatter light than do any good.

As others have said - you can always do the against-a-wall light beam check. Or just drive at night and see if your beams point up on the left.

A 2017 could well be the projector headlights - the LEDs were introduced later IIRC.

I would normally start on the lowest setting (pointing lights down) and them move up if I see there's 'headroom' for the beam on the left. 

If you do use stickers - do remember to remove them when you come back. If left on for too long, they can be a right pain to remove.

I usually set half a click per person or heavy thing in the back of the car, although because my Mk4 Yaris LEDs are so excessively bright I've had to start with the dial at 1 to stop people flashing me!

There's a 'blip' on the headlight lens cover, highlighted in orange below, that corresponds to the orange mark on diagram 114. That is supposed to give you some help when applying the stickers but there is still plenty of scope for error ...
