Weird Noise .....

Ok... If I'm driving along at 60 then plop it into 3rd and slam my foot down.... ( the car jerks hard because of my crazy clutch ! ) .... I hear a very small squeek for about 0.2 seconds, just as everything sorta engages and gets going.

Hope you know what I mean. Any ideas ?? A belt slightly loose or something ?

Or is my clutch just killing my engine mounts and causing something to make this noise ??? My clutch is basically an on off switch, so if thrashing it through the gears the car gets slammed about quite a bit. Is good fun tho...... :D

Erm... yeah, I do treat my car with respect.....

Could be a little bit of clutch squeal Jim. If you have a sport or racing type clutch, they're prone to that. Don't think it's anything to worry unduly about though.

clutch squeal eh ? ... didn't know that existed... lol

Prob is what it is as I do have a pretty mean racing clutch.

It could still be belt squeal, especially with all the damp weather we have been having recently!, if you clutch bites like a bastid your engine is suddenly slowing down very fast, the alt /pumps have a slight momentum to them, and might take that tiny amount of time to match their speed to the engines speed, and go squeak while they are at it
