I have a 2022 corolla the problem is that the sat navigation when driving will suddenly change and show me in the middle of the sea or in a totally different area. To correct this I have to stop the car and turn off the ignition,  not always possible when driving through a city you don't know. I have had the map updated, which takes about 2hrs, by Toyota.

Is there a reset button somewhere to enable me to use whilst still driving.

Frustrated driver.

You can reboot the infotainment system, I think you press and hold the power button for a few seconds.
Alternatively, you could use Apple Maps or Google maps as 2022 has CarPlay and AAuto

Very true and my preferred display.   However there are some people, such as me, that expect something to run as specified.

Thanks will try this. That's more than Toyota have told me.

Why not try one of these, just leave your phone in your pocket.

Tried and tested, great!

This happened to me, I was apperently about a mile into the English Channel before sat nav stopped telling me to make a u turn when possible and went silent. No land was visible on the display when this happened.

I turned the car on and off which worked for a while, then a few days later I suddenly appeared to be driving across fields.

I took it to the dealer & they fixed it. I think they ran an update.

Hi John.  I too have a 2022 Corolla.  However I am happy to say that issue has never manifested itself on my car.  The (Panasonic?) system works OK, but some of its route instructions are described a bit strangely - I prefer but rarely use Google maps etc.

Suggest this is a fault with your car, take it to the dealer.

I've just had a service doen and listed the problem John described.  They did the service OK but asked for £195 to reset the sat nav because, 'We need to buy another licence for it'.  I declined and will try all the resets I can think of!
