Tried to start the car but no luck, the interior light seem dim and when pressing the start/stop button it just flickers/flashes on. Unable to unlock the rear door or boot to access the 12V Battery. Any ideas on how to get it started?

Hi,

you need a jump starter pack or another car and leads.
Open bonnet and there is a black box with fuses and relays. Over there is positive terminal that you can connect your jump start positive cable and the negative you can hook on the bolt of the shock absorber. Jump start as usual, press brake and push the start button. Disconnect the jump leads and keep the car ON for at least 30-40 min, preferably an hour to recharge the Battery. No need to drive , but if you want you can do so. https://www.toyota.com/owners/resources/warranty-owners-manuals.highlander-hv.2022.digital.om0e138u.ch07se020410
Good luck

Jump start froom the engine bay fuse box. Either with jumper cable, or  Battery jump starter. Let it runs for 30 minutes to ready mode in Park. It will be enough to recharge the Battery if it is not too late and low.

12V Battery usually degrade instantaneously once it is completely drain. Unfortunately, it is permanent damage although may be used for couple more months or years but never be the same again.

Disconnect the D/C CUT fuse on the fuse box if you don't  drive for more than 2 weeks. You don't have to mess around the trunk and battery cable.

If it is still runs for at least couple days, get a jump starter battery pack and shop around for new Yuasa AGM battery.
