Having had a 2020 Corolla for over 3 years and now a new 2023 Corolla which I have driven for the last month I would like to share my experiences with it. Firstly the engine is quiet when pushed now. It can also hold a higher speed on Battery power alone. Instant acceleration on the pedal with a massive power surge if required. Brakes are very very sharp. Safety systems much improved but a bit too strong on some features like PDA. Indictator and parking sensor sounds are very quiet now. Headlights are a big improvement on the Design spec. Seeing the tyre pressures on each tyre on the excellent customisable instrument display is very nice to know. Sat nav very quick to operate and easier to use. Radio ok but nothing special to my ears. Scarlet Flare absolutely pops in the sun. Many comments on this colour from the neighbours. Early days on fuel consumption but I got 58mpg on first tank to tank fill up. I like the 'Hey Toyota' voice command system. Shame it can't make a cup of tea yet though 😄. Overall a very nice ride and a pleasure to drive but against my 2020 model it's a very similar ride quality to be honest. The same Falken tyres are probably alot to do with this I suspect but they are ok at 36 psi all round cold. Negatives. Not that keen on the powered tailgate and have turn it off in the settings as it's a bit too slow opening for me.

The newer gen cars are a lot better. I had falkens on the front for the Yaris mk3, it does a job, but wear is not on the level of premium tyres - goodyear. 👍

I got 16000 miles out of the Falkens with 3 mm left on the front tyres with the 2020 Corolla TS 2.0. Even more left on the back tyres. I did not rotate. I do like the Goodyears though.

Agree that the indicator tick is too quiet. Is there an aftermarket solution?

Scarlet Flare very nice, but the undercoat is grey so watch out for stone chips and careless supermarket shoppers. I have the Toyota touch-up kit, but following the instructions did not lead to an invisible repair!

Thanks for sharing. Drivability of the engine sounds much improved, and the safety systems (which I’ve never been particularly impressed with on my 2020 Corolla TS)

I have been using 'Chipex' paint touch up on previous colours like tyrol silver, pearl white, and decuma gray with great results so I hope I can achieve the same with scarlet flare.
