Hi all,

I wanted some accessories and bulbs change that I can't seem to find information online or I don't know what type they are, maybe you can help

1.The second shelf in the boot to have it at the same level as the back seat?

2.Is there an original phone holder?

3.what bulb type is inside and in the boot and  how to get them out?

4.number plate bulb type and how to get them out?

If it was asked anywhere else please point me in that direction

Thanks in advance

Boot and cabin are w5w/T10. eBay/amazon, AliExpress and the likes are a lot cheaper if you can wait 2-3 weeks delivery.

Buy a phone holder you think it's good for your needs. For the air vent, my advise would be something that hook onto the vent. Or a window suction holder.

Think number plates bulbs are the same, didn't changed that myself as am ok with the original light for it. Someone will advise how to get them out, haven't done it myself.

Thanks a lot, LOL, I already have that type of bulb in LED the only thing is taking that out to change it, I've tried already but I'm afraid to brake it

Removing the boot light is very easy. Get your fingernail under the top edge and pivot it out. It hooks in at the bottom edge.

I've added reflective tape to the backside, for good measure 😅

So a little update

Manage to the front interior light, but you need to pull quite hard. The boot one is very simple as long you understand how it comes out.

For the number plate ones I still need to find courage to change them

But thank you all for the help and information

Yes the interior unit was a little difficult to open, I had to watch a YouTube video. After managing to open there was a fastener attached to roof, didn't have the tool to pry it out, got a bleeding finger nail getting it out.

If the picture is accurate, I'm suspicious those are for a Mk3 Yaris; The rubber mats I got with my Mk4 (via the Protection+ Pack) are 'dished' (i.e. they have raised walls around the edges to stop water just running off the sides) and have a flappy bit that goes on the dead pedal. Those ones look flat and are missing the flap for the dead pedal. I suppose they could be an alternate version/design, but to my knowledge Toyota don't usually do things like that.

On the website I selected mk4 yaris, the codes from the website are:

the cheap one PW210-0D036

the expensive one PW210-0D106

looking for online images of this codes I can’t find pictures that clearly show them

  • 3 weeks later...

I got a kit from Aliexpress,  arrived today.  They even provide a pry bar and a glove as the boot Qh bulb gets hot.

Managed the driver's light OK.  Broke the clip (left side) of the passenger light.

Not attempted the main lights so must find the video.

Far more bulbs provided than needed so i can just leave them when I sell the car.

Used the car last night.  The drivers vanity mirror will work even if I don't change the centre lights.

However how do I do that?  The centre light fitting appears to be a one-piece affair including switches and lenses.  This appears to be fitted in a carrier which is fastened to the headliner.

Which bit should be opened, the light holder alone or the box the light holder is fastened into?

Roy124,

Anchorman or Cryker did a post several months / a year ago, possibly with video, on changing the bulbs in a Yaris Cross.  The post was originally about fitting side steps that morphed into a discussion about interior light upgrades.  A quick search should find it.

Yes, both links are very useful.

They effort to remove the assembly and the switches dropping out have convinced me.  Get the garage to do it on the next car.

Knowing my luck a piece of plastic would break or an essential item would disappear.

I replaced my interior lights yesterday. It was a bit of a "baptism by fire", but if you GENTLY get your fingers behind the lip of the light unit (so you're pulling the WHOLE THING out), and start at the back corner (the side closest to the window), and pull down firmly without yanking, it will just pop.

Next, pull the other corner (also next to the window) until it pops.

Finally, get your fingers in the middle of the front side of the unit, and pull until it also pops. At this point, the unit will want to fall out (but it gets stuck so won't actually fall out).

Hold the unit square, and pull gently. The cable plugs into the back right corner on the rear, and the cable is quite stiff, so don't pull it hard. It will not move very far once out, and seems to hang without trouble from the cable. I didn't try to remove the cable as it was very tight, so I just very carefully twisted the bulb holders and replaced them, then pushed the unit back in, being careful not to trap the cable behind.

The whole job took about 3 minutes, and I didn't use any tools.

Be careful following the video above - he just grabs both sides and pulls. What you need to do is pull each corner FIRST, and only enough to get them to pop out. If you don't, you risk getting the clips stuck in the ceiling rather than them pulling out with the unit.

In summary: back corners individually, then the front center. Just get a good grip, and what I did was pull straight down by trying to pull myself up using the light. You don't need to yank it or force it.

@YarisHybrid2016 Perfectly explained how to do it yourself.

When I did mine I pulled like crazy 😛 but it survived luckily, I think is a great idea how they fixed the lights to the ceiling

All the lights the can be changed seem to be easily serviceable
