I would like to fit my 30 year old Corolla E10s with brighter headlight bulbs but which can be safely fitted using the standard wiring set up. Is someone able to recommend what these would be? I am increasingly conscious that my current headlights are not great especially when confronted by the mobile lighthouses fitted to modern cars (and my older eyesight)!

Many thanks in advance for any help provided.

Depending on fitting (H4, etc), Philips X-tremeVision Pro150 - available from Amazon, etc.

Thank you. I'll have a look at those. Mine are H4 fitting.

Hi,

you can check Philips bulbs on Amazon Philips WhiteVision ultra H4 car headlight bulb, 4.200K, set of 2 https://amzn.eu/d/9JKKVEW

or any other high performance legal bulbs. Osram night breakers are also very good. One thing to point , the more powerful the bulbs are the shorter life they have. But if you don’t regularly drive at night there will be ok. 👌OSRAM NIGHT BREAKER LASER H4, +150% more brightness, halogen headlight lamp, 64193NL-HCB, 12V, duo box (2 lamps) https://amzn.eu/d/bwZM2pi

Thank you. Would not have been possible without the "sharing" scheme with my mate. We both had the same shopping list of cars we wanted to own. We went 50% on everything. After the initial outlay we would change every 3 or 4 years, parting with just another £1,500 or so each time - or sometimes nothing.

Thank you Tony. Not too much night time driving so life would not be an issue.

In the UK though, since 2021, using LED/HID bulbs in headlights designed for halogen can mean an MOT fail.

Good thing I was lazy and hadn't done anything then 🙂 Thanks for the info.
