Hey Toyota and hey Siri doesn’t work

I have never gotten “hey Toyota” or “hey siri” to work I have to use the button on the steering wheel to use them. I have seen clips of others using it so it works but not in my car. I have the largest package and had my car since December. (Live in Sweden). Anyone has any tips of what to do?

I was shown how to do this on the test drive and it worked. I tried it on my car when it arrived and it didn't seem to work and I thought perhaps I had misremembered (can be a lot to take in). Your post prompted me to try again and now it certainly works with stuff like windows, audio and phone.  Maybe drop into your dealer next time you're close to them and get somebody to check it?

I don't have the car or Smart connect, but I wonder if you have downloaded the My T app and activated the services?
Maybe it doesn't function until it's been registered to an account and agreed to terms and conditions etc.
I know certain functions on my older Prius Sat Nav wouldn't work until they had been activated on the My T app.

As far as I'm aware you need to have the phone connected with Apple cat play active for hey siri to work, the other one you just when there is no Apple car play or android auto active and say what it needs to do. works in my car but the Toyota one seems limited
