Check Brake System, VSC Warning

Hi all,

I recently bought a Toyota Avensis 2L Strata version. Check brake system warning light on the dash VSC and engine management light appear to have checked the brake fluid level and alls OK I have taken it to a Toyota dealership and they have come back saying that it is a injector problem. I have done some research on it and cannot see anything relating the warning to an injector. Just wondering if anyone had the same problem with the same diagnoses. Thanks

It is probably a correct diagnosis.

For some reason, the EPB warning in particular, but also some others, are often displayed no matter what the actual fault is. Quite why Toyota or the electronics OEM choose to have it do this is beyond me. It's not just Toyotas either. A friend of mine has a Range Rover Evoque. It recently suffered an ABS sensor failure, but the instrument panel was claiming all manner of other systems had failed. Surely it can't be hard to actually display a message related to the system that has actually failed, rather than a load of messages stating other systems have failed when they have not. The accurate data is there inside the on board diagnostics, it is just not presented accurately on the instrument panel.

Got it sorted, you where correct it was the injector, had this replaced this week and warning light are now gone. As you said its very strange that Toyota would have their system this way. Thank you for the reply.
