How do I know if my 2020 Corolla has a Pre Collision System. (I don't want to try it in case it's not there)

I know the radar works on Cruise Control, but there is no reference to it in the controls

Thats one item I am happy not to test and I know its fitted to my car.

You may have Dynamic speed control with Pre Collision system or

Constant speed control Only.

If you find the vehicle sumtimes suggest you brake now when it see a abstacle going round a rounderbout or in other sitiations you have a Pre Colision system.

It hasn't warned me to brake but it has slowed me down when following another car, is auto braking not standard and is there no panel indications for the braking to turn off or on

It can be touch sensitive at time.  When negotiating a particular bend with a parked car I get a red warning BRAKE with audible sound. That is on the Yaris but guess similar on the Corolla.

Once on a roundabout in my Volvo the system tried to do an emergency stop when negotiating through two cars in heavy traffic. Not a fan of driver aids, but all new cars are going that way now. I switch the lane assist off every time I get in the car. If I can’t steer my car by myself there is something very wrong. 😂

All Corolla comes with emergency auto braking as part of Toyota safety system, correct?

Dynamic speed control will slow the car down if the vehicle in front is traveling at a slower speed than you have set or its pulled infront of you.

I have a big red light that eliminates if the car thinks I going to crash after that it will apply the brakes if no action is taken.

This operates regardless of speed control and also works when reversing if it picks up a car going past or a pedestrian just stepping into one of the sensors field of range.

I had a2020 model, I think they have safety sense 2.0, it will slow when too close to the car ahead when using cruise control or it will do emergency brake if you don’t react to a red brake warning at other times, the auto braking/slowing full time is a feature if safety sense 3.0 which is on all 2023 models and is called PDA, proactive driver assist

Thanks for the reply guys but it still leaves the question open. I know it slows down in cruise Control but I am assuming it has dynamic breaking, it has never given any indications, how can I check?

Simon64, does that mean safety sens 2: I do not have it.

You haven’t challenged yet, but remember this is not a self driving capability car and these systems may help reduce speed, impact and damage but not fully prevent it as says on the package

, best way to understand all the safety systems of your car is to type in YouTube search for Toyota safety sense 2.0 , plenty of videos. 👌

2020 models had safety sense 2.0, if you are looking for auto braking when not in cruise control or emergency braking situation, that feature isn’t available until 2023 models in safety sense 3.0

Is that true? My 2019 Corolla auto braked the other week when I reversed up to a wall that had some weeds in front of it; the car stopped dead,

That’s the parking feature with auto braking, not while driving in traffic
