Hey everyone,

I have owned my iQ since late last year and I wanted to bring you all an ownership video on my 1.0l automatic.
I hope you all enjoy it.

Nice to see some iQ reviews on youtube from recent owners - most are quite old.

Some thoughts following watching your review:

- Trips from Glasgow to London are nothing! I happily go from the south of england to Wick a couple of times a year! And in a manual. On the M6 if you're not in a rush you can squeeze out >70mpg.

- You didn't show the storage space under the rear seats - have you found this yet?!

- A boot floor mat is worth getting - it was part of one of the option packs originally.

- Same with the 'glove box' pouch as you mentioned.

- Don't agree about the leather - you can already see ageing on yours, definitely needs a specialist cleaner and moisturise. The material seats age better and show no wear.

- Do you have rear seat headrests?

- The sticker on the rear window takes up a large portion of the height of the wee rear view, highly recommend removing it!

- I see you have the rear seatbelts plugged in. Is this to stop them rattling on the sides? There's very subtle slots just below where the belt comes out the side that are intended for the plug to be pushed in when not in use. There was also a slightly different plastic cover for the pivot point at the top of the belt with a plug holder on it that you can retrofit.

- Have you done the mod / fix for the AC outlet? There's an issue with the drain pipe at the rear of the engine bay that results in the condensate finding its way back in to the cabin and the passengers footwell.

- All external lights can be made infinitely better with LEDs. Loads of options out there. I've done all mine even including the number plate ones!

Enjoy your time with the iQ!

What's the issue? Is it on all IQs or particular years?

Long thread about it here:

Lots of suggestions through the thread, but the one I was able to verify on my iQ is the third post on the linked page. When I looked at the outlet pipe it was as described, and the foam around it was soaking. And after jamming a bit of standard garden hosepipe on it I've not had any damp inside since. I got the impression it affects all models, however the discussion was from way back, so maybe later ones had a different outlet pipe or bulkhead gasket foam.

I suspect it's less of an issue if you are not doing much long distance / faster speed journeys, or of course if you don't use the AC much.

Due to the extend of damage I ended up having to replace the sound insulation padding under my passenger footwell as the old stuff had largely disintegrated.
