Main deal not able to make a copy of the key fob.

Hi all,

 

I have recently bought a new Mk4 2021 Toyota Yaris. It came with only one fob and one manual key. After a lot of discussion with the dealer (documented in the post below), I managed to convince them to provide a second key.

 

Yesterday finally went there to get the second key but apparently, they weren't able to program the key fob and ask me to come back when the manager is in on the next working day. They promised that I will eventually get the second fob however I'm a bit concerned about this and I would love your opinion. Is there something I should be worried about (like something wrong with the ECU)?

Maybe the manager is the only one authorised to use the reprogramming software? Would be unusual . . . .

This is more than likely, heaven forbid they train their parts fitters to use techstream correctly 😉 🙃

 

it's a 10-min job to add a fob, no clearance required

They told me they ordered another fob as the one they tried to add was probably defective. Will keep you updated
