2025 R4P?

Saw this. Not sure of accuracy or just more speculation. 42 miles to 50 miles Battery range. I'm getting 50 to 54 just at the moment. 350hp would be nice especially if that was delivered by a more powerful rear motor. Better power delivery.

Sadly, I think it reads to me more like a wish list rather than a real product. However, I do think it’s likely to be an improved R4P and ‘25/26 sounds about right especially if they can fit solid state batteries which may well give some significant benefits. I guess there will be some significant speculation over the coming months but what we do know is that Toyota see the future in HEV/PHEV as well as BEV, Hydrogen developments.

I'm not sure what people might be expecting. The history of the RAV4 goes:

  • Mk 1 - 1994
  • Mk 2 - 2000
  • Mk 3 - 2005/6
  • Mk 4 - 2012
  • Mk 5 - 2018

I suspect that we can see a pattern here - any time after 2024 we might expect to see a RAV 4.6, but who knows given the current state of the market. When we do it is likely to be a different body Shell entirely.

Over and above that Toyota have done mid-life facelifts - I don't think that we have seen one of those for the 4.5 - and numerous more minor technical changes including complete engine 'swaps'!

It will be interesting to see the MY24 specs in a month or so ... 🤞

To be honest anyone with a modicum of knowledge of the car world could write that. You could substitute the RAV with a host of cars and be broadly on the ball, the Tiguan  being just one. Extending EV range and faster charging is a no brainer given improvements by the competition and I have never heard of any facelift or replacement being less safe or having less technology. Meaningless drivel that someone gets paid for! Give me the job, I am unemployed…..
