Picked up the '23 GR Sport

I'm down in Germany and after not owning a car for ten years went out and got the GR Sport and did a road trip from Bavaria up into the north and back, a total of 2500km over 11 days. Overall I'm pretty happy with the performance, very snappy and stable even at 200kph and averaged around 5.8l/100km for the whole trip. It got a little cozy with my partner, kid, and dog with a trunk full of luggage and giant stuffed animals we got from Europa Park but everyone was comfortable the whole time. There's a few observations I made:

 

• Lane guidance assistance is a bit unsettling as the steering will occasionally pull away from you as it tries to stay centered on a straight lane but is rather nice on gentle turns. The lane sensors only seem to work with white lane markers and get confused with the yellow construction lines
• The entertainment system settings are incredibly limited, I can't find a way to adjust the JBL audio system (bass,treble, etc.).
• Auto park is nice, when it works
• EV button is very useless, never got it to work

It seems like you do drive a bit higher speeds over there on the continent.  Here in the UK legally at least we are limited to 110km/h. These cars aren’t usually the best for high speeds droves but indeed, they are comfortable and very nice on  long or short distances.

According to Toyota, the top speed of a UK spec 2.0 C-HR hybrid is 111 mph = 179 kph ...

Maybe the gearing is different over there but I doubt it.

I looked it up for Germany and it’s the same so it was likely hitting that speed and creeped up as it took going downhill to hit close to 200. This was on the autobahn where I usually drive 140-160, I was curious how it felt at the top speed and that’s as far as it went. I highly doubt I’ll do that regularly of course 🙂

The GR Sport is great. I have one too, along with the JBL system.

This can be adjusted in the settings menu.
