Hello my everyday car Mazda 2 Diesel has just packed up .Fortunately a friend has kindly lent me a car ,a Corolla I have to say its upmarket a bit from the Mazda.I really like the drive on it Len

Yeah those Mk9 Corollas are really nice. It's from a time where Toyota had gotten the reliability down, and were trying to take on VW a bit, so the cars from that era had a nice step up in build quality.

I was telling someone in another thread, who had that itch to get a new car, that they'd likely be a bit disappointed as the newer cars just aren't as plush as the ones from that era. They have a big advantage in tech and efficiency, but the build quality and materials just aren't as nice as the Mk9 Corolla's.

That said I do like the Mazda 2 as well - It's a very nippy car, nice to drive, and while not as practical as the Yarisusiesesiees of that era, felt more driver-focussed. Well, as long as you have one of the later ones and not the ugly boxy one :laugh: . I didn't know they did a diesel one, I've only seen the petrols! Also, confusingly, the new Mazda 2 is actually a Mk4 Yaris in disguise! :laugh:

Hi Len. Welcome. I'm sure you'll enjoy the Corolla. I've had a couple of them during my life. Always found them to be reliable
