Saw this on Autotrader, and I love to speculate.
2020 HEV, it looks in mint condition despite 113,000 miles 1 owner, full service history - 13 of them.

No tow bar. Now there have been times in my work life I have done seriously high miles but usually my 'working' cars show
signs of heavy use and some battle scars no matter how careful. And that was when roads were a lot quieter so it was viable.

Its got no wheel scuffs or stone chips which suggests not much motorway or they kept their speed down. I wonder what life it had?

Also, I know my petrol engine actually only runs about 50% of the time so you could say the one in this has only done 55,000 but I know it doesn't work quite like that.

Just thought the group might find it amusing.

Yeah, it is in oddly good nick for the mileage. Another slightly weird aspect is it's sporting Michelin Crossclimate2 tyres on all 4 corners. Whilst they are an outstanding all season tyre, they do see to wear faster than their predecessors and other Michelin I general (I have a set on our 2nd car). Doesn't really match up with a high mileage user, nor with the types of tyres a dealer would slap on when turning a car around for sale 🤔

This was likely a company car or used as a long trip taxi, those who carry airport transfers mainly and do crazy miles.
The all season tyres will also suggest that. Private use all seasons might not be necessary, if it starts snowing you may not go out, but when you out all the time and start snowing you need to get to your destination., will you?
These cars relatively new at higher miles are cracking used car purchase. They aren’t any worse than a 20k miles example mechanically, but at reduced price, a real deal, especially if the plans are not to continue driving at these rates 50k + a year. 👍

The ambulance service emergency responders use RAV’s in this part of the world to replace the diesel Octavia Scouts. And What is wrong with Michelin cross climates?

Welsh ambulance have a fleet of them, nothing spared on them whatsover, if it needs brakes it has pads/discs/shims/clips nothing is left to chance, very well looked after as you would expect from a public service organisation

I was thinking if it looks that good at 113 how it would run for say another 80K, say I bought it as my retirement all purpose runaround and only did low mileage less than 8K would be a 10 year keeper.
When would things get pricey like bearings.. who knows where?
If it were an Excel and 16K I might have been seriously tempted!! but gone now.

I just imaged someone doing a run to a Scottish lock and back to the Dorchester 3 times a week with a box of fresh Oysters 🚙

Nothing's wrong with them, per se, tho the Crossclimate2 appears to be wearing faster than I would have expected, from experience with the 1st generation of crosslimates. I may only get 20-25k out of them. And they're expensive, but I'd previously rationalised that because they last long (closer to 35-40k of useable tread depth), then was worth it.

Seemed like an odd choice for a high mileage car, and too expensive for a dealer to throw on during turnaround for sale. Tho as @TonyHSD points out, there appears to be a rationale use case to explain both the tyres and the mileage.

Oh, I do enjoy this good tyre wear of 20000 plus. My Smax was generally getting 11 to 13000 miles out of Michelin tyres on the front wheels.
