It begins! There is some job for the hood, next will be doors, trunk, wheels arch and roof.

Materials: STP black silver multi layer, STP hood solution multi layer, STP splen 04

The engine sound is clearly lower, the TOC is solid as you can hear

Toyota cars are quieter outside than the inside. And you now have made it even more so from outside 👍

Yes.  I find the radio volume knob has always been a great sound absorber as well.

job done! I have no photo for the back doors and the rear trunk...on the next holidays I think I'll close the work with the roof and the external wheels arch. On the next days I'll do a test with an app, measuring dB and frequencies

the car now is rock solid, the music is on another level..very satisfied!!

Nice, what was the cost?

About 230€ and I have some extra sheets that I will use for the roof and maybe the plate or doors arch

DIY, but I can say that this work can be easily about 250/300€

Have you done or plan to do anything around rear wheel arches ( interior )? As there are no liners fitted, I find rear road noise a bit intrusive.

NVH on these lower end cars is almost non-existent.

Yes, I put the STP silver black everywhere (but I have no photos bc the phone was on charging in another level of my house), then I put the STP splen 04...NVH is on another level

Do you have a figure of what the cost is for what you’ve done so far or plan to do?

You’ll have to let us know if the extra weight decreases mpg. If I did anything, it would probably be the rear arches tbh, possibly spare wheel well.

the total extra weight is about 15kg...my weight is about 70kg, so.....nothing drastically changes on km/l

It makes a big difference although I wouldn’t have done the visible parts under the bonnet.

Love your work

I would love to have that on my car

It makes a big difference not just to the sound but the whole refinement of the vehicle.  It’s something the anonymous person who’s mocking above is just showing their ignorance about.  It’s also one of the reasons a Lexus is so much more expensive because all that is done at the factory adding time and materials to it.

I agree with you, I did this a long time ago to one of my first cars and it makes the a huge difference. To be honest I don't think I would have the patience now to do this. I don't find my car that noisy anymore.
