It sounds like, instead of changing your supplier, you need to change your mechanic.

I think it is who who misunderstood.  The parts from the motor factor were probably ok but, the installation would be where the fault was.

Why did you fit "pure junk track rod ends" operator error?

You can't say Chinese stuff is junk because just about any car part you can think of is made there.  That goes for all makes and models of car.

I did get a cheap wheel bearing around £30 Yaris, still had a little noise. Then I got Blue Print and for 2 years running silent. They r made in Germany to OEM standards. Amazon does seem to specialise in Blue Print.

I am looking to put new brake discs and pads on my 2014 Avensis D4D T27. My question is should I go with OEM from Toyota or try aftermarket brands??? Which Aftermarket brand is the best to use on Avensis T27?? Do my rear discs need to be vented or solids?? There is vented front and back on the car from last owner and they used Delphi parts.

On my T27 (2018) all brake disks are solid. Don't think you need vented.

For regular road driving, you can go almost with any manufacturer really. Ofcourse there is difference in materials in use, but most of the time (if not taking the most cheapest ones) you will not tell the difference.

Thanks for the info yes the back disc is actually solid.... My mistake....So I might go with aftermarket. The brake pads are Delphi on my car...there is a bit if a squeal when the car is cold braking at the first junction.... Doesn't squeak after that.

Squeking noises are from rust forming on brake disk/pad when car is sitting in parking lot, and easily removed on few braking seasons, if not on 1st. This is normal.

I wouldn't go to Toyota to buy brake parts.  You'll get good quality brake discs from any motor factor, or from eBay or Amazon.

I'm not sure that your rear discs are vented either, how do you know they are Delphi?

As the car is only nine years old, I wouldn't expect it to be needing a third set of discs already, the original set of discs on my Avensis didn't get replaced until they were eleven years old.

My 1st brake disk change was at 4 years and ~95 000km range, but needed to change only the front, because they are used the most in braking. Rear disks are most of the time changed, when they are rusted almost completely. I'm not at 130 000km and still on original rear braking disks.

The right honourable gentleman is talking a load of rubbish.

I know it's a strong statement to right off every motor factor outlet in one swooping statement, but I have to agree with @2009joe.

At least here in Northern Ireland, they don't really care what they're selling you, they make up the price on the spot, if you want matching pads/discs [brand] you're treated like you're being awkward.

I used to get parts for my older cars here and in 3 years I must have done my brakes twice on a Fiat Panda. Pretty sure Mintex were used at one point.

I'm not a fan personally..  although I'd agree that it's potentially a problem with the west side of Northern Ireland. Perhaps in England / mainland and other side of NI the attitudes, service and product quality are better. Our patch tends to suffer from a lack of competition and resistance to serve (with kindness and respect) folks who aren't from your locale. Sad

I'm going to be changing the oil next month  on my Avensis. I ordered OEM / Toyota discs and pads, fitted the same time. I'll post a thread and add some pics of the state of them.

over 20k miles, 1.5 years so far.  Visually they're fine, no corrosion and pads look beefy yet... will post proper pics in coming weeks

We put 'Brembo' discs and pads on a relatives Mazda 6 tourer / auto 2.2D... cracks and warping.  They weren't 'Xtra' or 'Max' line ones, very much motor factor specials. I'm sure they make good kit for the right money, but the plain jane parts are sub-par, regardless of the name stamped on them.

FYI, genuine Toyota discs are 'BOSCH' stamped, not Toyota except for the box they come in - which I was disappointed with.  But Japanese quality assurance will keep the lies of 'german engineering' in check, to a decent standard, so I am content so far. If I get another year or two I'll be happy.
