MPG in Eco mode

That gives me bad memories of crosswinds on the M1 in my previous Yarisusesiuiuuses - They got blown about like there was a sail attached to them!!

I don't know how they fixed it in the Mk4, but it's so much more stable in crosswinds...!

Today was very windy - gusting up to 35 mph.

31 mile trip to my daughter's home with 2 stops on the way (1 x 15 minutes and 1 x 40 minutes) with a tailwind gave 78.5 mpg.

Same trip home (no stops though) into a headwind gave 66.6 mpg.

Reminds me of the tale (probably false) that the Allegro was more aerodynamic from the rear rather than the front 😂

I used to have an allegro, great car, learnt how to fix lots of things, that quartic steering wheel was so far ahead of its time, look at some of todays Citroen and Renaults…

Yup, most people don't know that most steering wheels are off-centre to give better clearance for their knees.

Does that mean you get friction burns when trying to do fast 3-point turns because it rubs on your legs?

I never understood why they didn't just make the wheel smaller instead of having off-centre or flat-bottomed wheels in those cases tho' - We have power steering now so why not?? I was so glad the Yaris has a circular wheel, as those misshapen wheels bother my OCD!  (And don't get me started on Yokes!! )
