500 miles!

Well I’ve finally managed 500 miles on an Aygo tank of fuel!

500.7 miles at an indicated 74.6 (actual 74.7) miles per gallon before I lost my nerve.

Nice! How much fuel were you able to get in? That should give you a better idea of how far you could have pushed it  

Toyotas are known to have a near-excessive reserve!

I remember on my old Mk1 D4D I managed something like 100 miles on the last block before I lost my nerve, and I think I worked out there was still potentially 5-7L left!!  

Am less inclined to try on my Mk4, as the potential issues from running out of fuel are far worse, due to the hybrid system, and the tank is already tiny so definitely don't want to push my luck there!

Blimey !!! What was your average speed to achieve that MPG ?

I only managed to refill 30.46 litres, so I probably had another gallon left despite the “Range 11 miles” message.

I hadn’t see a warning low fuel message either, I suspect that is separate to the range calculation.

Speed wise, I’d set the cruise to 60 and pootled apart from some very dubious Google detours and some switchbacks across Dartmoor.

Lol, what a great numbers, between than hybrids 👌👍 it looks like can do another 50 miles at least with remaining fuel in tank.
