Hi Steve, welcome lots of good advice when you need it and always welcome when you give it. I'm sure someone will help you with your Avensis starting problem. Is this something that has just happened or has it happened before. Any warning lights etc.👍

Hi, Thank you,

It has just happened 2 weeks ago, I've had it plugged in and scanned twice, there are no codes present and no lights on either, confused

Have you checked the Battery and the starter motor . Is the car cranking over or completely dead

Hi Steve, you may have tried a few of these but have a look at this link it may help. Take a look at the diagnostic chart down the page it may be helpful to identify the problem.

Thank you i have a basic understanding , but i think it points to the separate immobiliser ECU, as the seems lots for sale on eby?????

So it's crank, no start with no codes. Does it sound like it has compression, anything happen before this problem like a flat Battery and jumpstart

Tried a spare key ? Have you had the Battery load tested ? Does the scan tool actually connect to the car, e.g. gives you the vin or live data ?

Have you checked ignition coils and spark plugs?

2.2diesel won't have spark plugs.

Glow plugs simply pre-heat things in cold weather. Diesels rely on compression rather than a spark.
