How to fix/turn off the parking sensors in a 07 plate Auris

Hi,

I have an old Auris (07 plate), and recently some one drove into the back of me on a motorway. It was more a less than 1 mile and hour solid tap than anything and after checking  and finding no signs of damage I left it at that.

An hour later when I put the car in reverse for the first time I now get a continual beep of panic from the rear parking sensors. All the sensors appear to be in place, not seem loose and all point in the right direction.

The question is, as I don't want to spend hours with the car in a garage and am not too bothered about not having reverse sensors    - is there a way of turning off the beeping? There is nothing obvious in the basic settings or a dedicated fuse  as far as I can see

But it might be possible that you have to press it every time you start the car, to disable it.

The rear parking sensors may be dealer rather than factory fit. If dealer fit, there may be a small on/off switch mounted on the side of the boot lining by the wheel arch.

In case of no switch and possibility it's just some generic sensor, then you can take the cover of the back lights and check the bulb for reverse.

If there's an extra cable connected to it that powers the sensor, you can remove it.
