Couple of questions folks, if you can help:

When my BZ is locked, if I open the boot, the whole car unlocks, but it doesn't all re-lock when I close the boot. Is there a way of saving having to re-lock the whole care after I've close the boot? I makes a bit of a mockery of the kick open/close. Also, the switched under the boot lid, one closes the boot but the one with a picture of a lock on doesn't seem to do anything at all. Any ideas?

Usually when I lock up, the car just locks and the mirrors fold. Occasionally it gives out 5 or 6 beeps whilst doing this and I can't fathom why - windows close, no phone in left phone holder, no message on screen - nothing seems out of the ordinary. Help?

Thanks.

Assuming that the keyless entry system works in a similar way to that on the RAV4 ...

You can't open the boot when the car is locked. But, provided that the key is present, the car will unlock automatically when you press the boot open button - or, I guess, the kick thing but I don't have that. And the boot will open.

On the RAV4 there are two buttons accessible from the outside - one opens and closes the boot; the other locks and unlocks the car provided that the key is present - and that means in the hand or pocket of the person standing behind the car to operate the button. I suspect that the "one with a picture of a lock on" will behave the same way ...

I use the button on the left to just close the boot. If i want to lock the car also, you press the button on the right and walk away. I think you might have to walk a short distance for this to work as I've had the odd occasion where nothing happens, but as you walk away you should notice the boot start to close and the doors lock.

Thanks Philip, but my two buttons are on the inside so the workings will be a bit different.

Thanks Egg, that sounds feasible, I'll give it a go.

Thanks Egg, just to confirm it works for me. Quite useful, if a little disconcerting to walk away from a car with an open boot!

Any thoughts on the five beeps on locking up, anybody?

My experience is that this is a warning that you might have left something on the back seats. Not always reliable (usually false alarm) but certainly saved one backseat passenger from leaving their mobile phone behind in my bZ4X...

I believe you can turn this feature off I used to find it annoying so I switched it off a while ago   (But a can't remember where)🤷‍♂️.

Thanks, I'll experiment with that. Quite often there's a child seat or two in the back for the grandlings so that may be it. Tempting to turn it off if possible but then I may wind up walking off and leaving the grandkids in the back!
