Do you know though if you have LED or standard halogen? Just curious as to what may be the cause. Also trying some different bulbs as Tony suggested if they are halogen may improve things.

Halogen I believe ,they are on a dimmer by the looks of it that can't be turned up.😂

There are LED headlight conversion kits available. Such as the example in the link. Might be worth a shot. Would need to make sure first though that they are road legal and they'd pass the MOT. Maybe other members can advise further.

It might be worth a shot but will see what others say and how well they actually perform.👍

It is not legal with the way of rules in UK and europe in general. Don't buy random LED, 99% are junk. I had tested V45 Bevinsee and light up really well. Literally 2-3x brighter. I need 1 click down and nobody ever flash light me even in bumpy roads. Only v35 and v45 are good, the newest v55 are too hot and not brighter.  337076518_Screenshotfrom2022-10-1109-54-51.thumb.png.95867733fd98b620d7618fa7edb67cc1.png90482801_Screenshotfrom2022-10-1009-17-00.thumb.png.3b8f77d4c1264f186ed4efbd30d78402.png1382065559_Screenshotfrom2022-10-1009-21-21.thumb.png.8a108133e18f6cd7170614030c1c0155.png

Hi John, will the V45 Bevinsee you recommend be suitable for my 1.2T 2017. I want to make sure as I do not want to buy something that will not suit. Anything brighter would be a result but I really would like to find the best I can.👍

Yes, HIR2 from V45 LED chips postion is exactly like the original Halogen bulb Tungsten hot spot. Thererfore, we have a really good light patterns in Projector headlights in Auris,Yaris, etc.  It has 3 years warranty. I have it for almost 2 years and no degradation or problems yet.

In general, projector headlights never blind others because its shutter sharp cutoff design. It should be legalized for projector type applications but not for reflectors unless tested by TÜV or similar standards.

Take it on your own risk. I found more pros than cons in Auris applications. This V45 is brighter than OEM bi-LED from Toyota. I am willing to pay the fine instead of  accident prone driving on dim headlights.

I wish they allow us to do the light test in MOT and legalized it. At this moment, we just need to remove it during MOT and install it back once we pass. Removing is a bit tricky because the collar is often left on the socket, still can be remove after few trials.  We are helpless against gov. regulations that sometimes are outdated. The law does not distinguish projector or reflector. Just the total lumens and what not to modify original bulbs

I fully agree with prohibiting non tested LED on Reflector type headlights. They are all blinding others. Probably only £100+ pairs from OSRAM and Philips do the job on H7 and H4 bulbs. But those LED are very dimm, conparable to the halogen it replaces.
