Plug in hybrid towing electrics question

Hi all, got a rav4 phev used a few days ago, loving it so far - prior to me buying the car it had 7 pin electrics on the factory fitted towbar. before i bought the car the dealer agreed to swap this to 13 pin electrics for me. Just had the caravan out and the  caravan fridge and charging doesn’t work, i believe it’s pin 10 on the connector thats not connected , the caravan atc system works which is a permanent live but the switched one doesn’t seem to be working

The dealer is going to have a look on wednesday for me but i’m just wondering if anyone else could tell me if this function should work on a toyota towbar? I know some of the german cars don’t as standard…

Many thanks

I had mine fitted a couple of weeks ago 13 pin electric with dedicated wiring loom ATC and fridge work.

My factory fitted towbar came with 13 pin electrics and a supplied 7 pin convertor plug - so I guess that wasn't factory fit on yours.

My first tow with the new Suzuki Across on Saturday towball paint removed and cleaned, see how it fair compared to our old 2020 Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV 2.4.

when you order a new rav you can specify 7 pin or 13 pin… the original order sheet for the car had 7pin specified

Mine was an after market there are no factory only dealer fitted options with the Suzuki Across.

Jamie, didn't get the option to specify on my order so I was hoping 7 pin but arrived 13 with convertor as I said - only use the bar for a bike rack.

interersting… maybe it was when the build year was? just had a look on a new rav on the toyota config and you can still choose 7or 13 pin… ironically they gave me a 13 pin to 7 pin adapter when changing the wiring to 13 pin for me so why on earth they offer a choice of sockets i have no idea!

If you only need a towbar for a bike rack or trailer then 7 pin will suffice. For caravans you need 13pins. When I ordered my car I put on the order to be fully wired for caravan use, which it was.

all sorted - if anyone has any issues in the future the issue was as part of the install you connect a wire to one of the pins of a socket in the boot behind the panelling, this pin wasn't pushed in far enough - a simple push and click gets the relay engaged when the ignition is turned on and energises the charging/fridge circuit in the caravan.
