Auris T3 2.0L D-4D cutting out at idle

Hey all, I'm posting here on behalf of my mum. She's had this 2007 Auris for a good few years but it's still a great drive.

Recently though, we've had a few issues with her (the car), such as a radiator leak and now its randomly dying at idle when coming to a stop for lights, junctions, etc. Applying a little throttle stops this, so my thought is that the ECU is getting a little confused in its old age, but I'm  not a mechanic by any means.

My other thought is that the Battery could be getting on, but (and correct me if I'm wrong, I'm trying to learn too aha) I think that wouldn't affect performance when its running, mainly on starts.

Anyway, if anyone knows the parts I could take a look at and what I should try to look out for, I'll give it a good look over. Cheers!

Fuel system blockage? Replace fuel filter, check fuel pump and other related fuel system components?

Could also be air starvation... Air filter good? Vaccum leak? Check all that.

Thanks for the ideas, I've checked the air system and it seems fine (only replaced the air filter myself less than 5k miles ago)

I've bought a replacement fuel filter and we'll be fitting it very soon, the pump is a bit of a !Removed! to get to, that I've heard, but it wouldn't be a bad idea to visually inspect it. It seems to prime perfectly well though.
