Mine are closed. Permanently. No window winders nor do they clip out. Was this how they all came or do I have the extreme budget version?

Alex

ps not that bothered about them, just curious.

I had electric at the front and the rears worked with a handle winder.

Do you have a plastic bung covering the winder shaft you may have to remove the door card to investigate further.

Presume you have a 3 door. Going back to 1996 and 1998 when we had a couple of Corolla 3 door hatchbacks, the rear side windows were fixed - no winders or clips. Didn't matter so much to us as we very rarely carried rear seat passengers, and the 98 car had air con and an electric sunroof anyway.

Yup, as the wise all-knowing Frosty says, the 3-door Mk1's had fixed rear windows; I remember my neighbour being a bit smug since her Aygo at least had pop-out rear windows

But mine had a sunroof and better AC so I feel on balance I had the better deal

The advantage was the 3-door Mk1s were stiffer than the 5-door ones, which is why purists were always after the 3-door T-Sports rather than the 5-door ones.

I preferred the 5-door, as trying to get my fairly large friends into the back of the 3-door one is not something I ever want to have to do ever again...

How do you arrive at that? Our 98 Corolla mentioned earlier was mid range and still had fixed rear side windows.

Nah, you just have the 3-door one. Spec don't matter.

My Mk1 was a Mk1 T-Spirit - the top-spec of the Mk1 Yaris - and the rear windows in that were the same.

If you wanted openable rear windows, you had to get a 5-door version.
